Bethesda has confirmed today (in a shocking discovery if I may say as I never thought it would of happened) that Elder Scrolls Online will be made available to play on the next generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There will be a later release date for the console which is expected to be around Spring 2014.
Quoted from Matt Frior Game Director at Bethesda:
“We are thrilled to bring this game to consoles, in addition to the PC and Mac,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It’s something our fans have been requesting since we first announced the title, and something our team is excited to offer. Everyone will be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online the way they want to play”
What are your thought’s on this and how do you think ESO will be handled on the consoles rather than on a PC?
We are still waiting to hear on whether the Players on the Console version and the PC players will be playing on the same MegaServer or separated. It seems a big technology jump for an online game to cater for all PC, Xbox and PlayStation players to be able to join together on the same game and through the same server.
Come on guys, how would you even play an MMORPG game like Elder Scrolls on a console with limited controls in the first place? Only time will tell I guess…
